For many years, cruisers on The Smooth Jazz Cruise would gather onboard to honor their love for Historically Black College and University (HBCU) culture and represent their beloved National Pan-Hellenic Council Fraternities and Sororities by wearing their Greek letters and colors. The excitement of those events, coupled with our respect for the legacy of HBCUs and Divine Nine, is the inspiration for a new amazing cruise program, Homecoming: The Cruise.
In the HBCU and Divine Nine community, “Homecoming” embodies a powerful blend of history, pride, culture and fellowship. These weeklong reunions celebrate Entertainment, Education and Excellence!
This cruise does all three along with a profound purpose: over $200,000 in scholarships will be awarded to demonstrate our commitment to the success of HBCUs and Divine Nine students as we uplift our future leaders and scholars.
Homecoming: The Cruise is produced in association with the National HBCU Alumni Alliance and Signature Cruise Experiences (formerly Jazz Cruises) is the Cruise Producer. The entertainment for this cruise will be second-to-none, featuring top performing artists Babyface, Chanté Moore, Take 6, MC Lyte, Nephew Tommy and hosted by Debbie Allen and Norm Nixon. Of course, the spirit of Homecoming will be embodied throughout the cruise, with a variety of events including a D9 Stroll & Stomp the Yard Competition, HBCU Round Table Talks, MLK Day Celebrations, Pool & Beach Parties, Comedy Shows and much more!
